Living in Mongolia was a truly unique experience. The country was in transition, moving from a Communist system to a freer, more open economy, yet much of everything was still in its infancy. Travel required ingenuity and a sense of adventure — organised tours were rare, so we often had to find our way “by the stars,” as we did on our journey to the Gobi Desert. The vast landscapes were breathtaking, offering immense space for animals to roam freely, including the famous wild horses. My photography here captures not only the enormity of the land but also the quiet beauty of life lived close to nature and the remarkable sense of freedom that Mongolia inspires.
