My first steps on Asian soil were in Thailand — the beginning of a lifelong fascination with the region’s diversity, warmth, and beauty. From there, I travelled through Sarawak, Kuala Lumpur, and on to Singapore, where I bought my first zoom lens and filters — the start of a deeper love for photography. Singapore became a familiar place again later, when I was based in Jakarta, and always felt like a crossroads of cultures and ideas. Years later, while living in Hong Kong, I visited Vietnam several times, exploring both Hanoi and Saigon and discovering a country rich in colour, history, and resilience. My work also took me to Cambodia, where I had the chance to visit the magnificent Angkor Wat — a place that felt timeless. My photographs from South-East Asia reflect the sense of wonder I felt then and still feel now: a region where ancient and modern worlds coexist in harmony, and where every journey reveals something unexpected.
