Middle East Gallery

My first experience living in the Arabian world was in Saudi Arabia, at a time when few people knew much about the country because it was largely closed to tourists. I was captivated by the desert landscapes, the rich colours, and the depth of local culture — a world both stark and beautiful. Later, I lived in the UAE, based in Abu Dhabi, with the chance to explore Dubai and its surroundings. Travel around the region became easier, allowing me to visit Bahrain and Oman as well. My photographs from the Middle East reflect the contrasts I experienced: the vast deserts and city skylines, tradition and modernity, and the vibrant spirit of the people I met along the way.
